In the March 2010 election in Iraq, Iyad (Ayad) Allawi's Iraqi National Movement reportedly got slightly more votes than Prime Minister Nouri Maliki's party. (Can Dr Iyad Allawi heal Iraq's wounds?)

Looks like it was rigged.

The US and UK want Iyad (Ayad) Allawi as leader of Iraq.

Allawi once worked closely with Saddam Hussein.

He is a former Ba'athist.

He helped found the political party called the Iraqi National Accord (INA).

In the lead up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq the INA provided intelligence about alleged weapons of mass destruction to MI6. (Ayad (Iyad) Allawi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Allawi Helped CIA Sabotage Iraq: Report

Exiled Allawi was responsible for 45-minute WMD claim

Allawi's group also gave MI6 a letter purporting to show that Sept. 11 hijacker Mohammed Atta received training in Iraq from now-dead terrorist Abu Nidal in 2001.

Some have regarded him as an MI6-CIA puppet. (:: )

Allawai was prime minister of Iraq in 2004.

Allawi allowed US troops to launch the large offensives in Najaf and Fallujah.

Allawi shot prisoners in cold blood, according to witnesses

"Allawi's tenure was marked by corruption, a feckless approach to basic services, and a widespread perception of thuggishness.

"In one particularly intense episode, he's said to have personally (and summarily) executed six suspected insurgents at a Baghdad police station.

"Perhaps most importantly, his support for the devastating military incursions into Fallujah and Najaf in 2004 earned him the hatred of both Shia and Sunni Iraqis." (
