60% of Iraqis oppose occupation troops according to survey

A survey in Iraq has been carried out by Oxford Research International (ORI), on behalf of five media groups, including the BBC.

The state of the country:

Fifty-three percent say the situation is bad and 44% that it is good.

The US-led invasion:

50% said it was wrong and 47% said it was right.

The occupation troops:

65% are opposed to them.

45% said the foreign troops should leave now or after the elections, with 31% saying they should stay until security is established.
